“Is sobriety all that we can expect of a spiritual awakening? No, sobriety is only a bare beginning.”

— As Bill Sees It, p. 8

Grow in Recovery

Our Dwelling Place provides a structured living environment, with accountability for sober living. It is a place to rest and heal, and allows space to explore spirituality. Here you will find connection and community with women who relate to the struggles and milestones of recovery.

Meet the Owner

Lydia Bethmann is a Chippewa Valley native inspired to introduce Eau Claire to the same sober living model that changed her life in 2016. Lydia is passionate about sharing with others, the gift that was given to her. Her professional experience as a social worker has equipped her with skills of active listening, critical thinking and empathy.

It’s More than a House

Just like building a house, we are all rebuilding our lives in recovery. The purpose of Our Dwelling place is to expand on this metaphor so that once you’ve rebuilt your house you can

  • Begin decorating: learn to love yourself and rediscover joy. This may be a new hobby or friend.

  • Tend the garden: nurture your relationships. Bring joy to your neighbors.

  • Build better lives: contribute to your community.
